Secret to Escaping ³Cubicle Captivity²
Revealed in New Video Series
27-year-old ³eBay® Millionaire² says anyone can reap big rewards
in the powerful, profitable online marketplace with confidence and a plan
FORT WAYNE, IN (DATE) Dave Novak had a problem. Once again, just like yesterday -- and the day before, and the day before that -- he was rushing back to work after a quick lunch and precious little quality time at home with his wife and six-month-old daughter. Back to his cubicle, unfulfilling work and unrewarded sweat. Back to the corporate structure that was eating him up and, for the third time, threatening to spit him out with another merger-driven layoff.
Only this day, it was different. He would, he promised himself, change things so that he could escape his cubicle prison, do something he loved and spend as much time as he wanted with his wife and daughter before she was old enough to miss him. He would do it. He was ready.
The eBay Millionaire
Today, just a few years later, Dave has done it. He is founder and President of Novak and Company, with two successful web sites up and running. He has generated $2.4 million in sales online. And at 27, he has achieved the success of his choosing: a job he loves, the flexibility to spend as much time with his family as he wants to, and the means to give them the lifestyle they love. Now, he wants to tell the whole world his story and share his secrets to success through his new online video series, ³The eBay Millionaire Secret.²
A few months prior to the layoff that inevitably came, Dave began dabbling in an online eBay business, not an unusual pastime for him. By the time he was handed the pink slip, he had made $340,000 online and was ready to take the business to the next step and do it full time. And the rewards have kept coming ever since.
Ready. Fire. Aim.
According to Dave, a few simple ideas are key to creating the success everyone wants. The first is a step-by-step plan of action. The second is the confidence to jump in and start executing the plan without too much over analysis. If you need to adjust your plan once you get into it, you adjust. It¹s that simple.
-more-
³I want to teach people that you can analyze anything to a point where you realize you can fail, and that doesn¹t lead to anything, said Dave. ³One of my credos is ŒReady. Fire. Aim.¹ because I feel that when you have an idea and you know it¹s good, you just have to go with it. Develop your plan of action, and just go.²
Steps that work
The video series shares Dave¹s steps for not only selling products online successfully, but also choosing the ones that are right to work with. ³I help people find out what is truly valuable to them, what they¹re passionate about, and then I help them build a business around that,² said Dave. The videos are direct and specific about building an actual eBay business, which he feels is a great starting point for eventually reaping the kinds of profits he is enjoying. ³People need a certain path to follow,² said Dave. ³You need the confidence to go for it, and you have to do the hard work to back it up. But I want to teach people how to do it right.²
Youthful risk taker
Dave says his entrepreneurial spirit was foreshadowed early on in the contrast between his behavior as a child and that of his more ³straight arrow² brother. ³Ask our Mom,² said Dave. ³She¹ll tell you how everything my brother did was exactly what you¹d expect, and I did the unexpected in every situation.² Dave himself relates the story of how as youngsters he and his brother, sleds in tow, came upon a very steep hill. Dave¹s sibling stood at the top of the hill, looked down, and pondered the situation. Dave, however, wasted no time in putting sled to snow and zipping down the hill head first, finding the first large rock and splitting his head open on it.
³My risk-taking didn¹t always work out,² laughs Dave. ³But after a while I learned that it was OK, that there are other people like me who take a different route, who want to be creative, do something different. They inspired me to go for what I want. But now, my life is exactly what I¹ve always wanted. There¹s nothing holding me back.²
